Barbara has been on a mission since 1980 when she began her career in Real Estate in Richmond, VA. That mission is to help buyers and sellers make informed real estate decisions. After a move to Lancaster County in early 1983, she had the challenge of adjusting to rural versus city ways of real estate sales. She soon grew to like her new environment and quickly learned the ins and outs of real estate dealings on the Northern Neck and Middle Peninsula. In 1987 she opened Chesapeake Properties, LTD in White Stone and for the following 11 years was a mentor to agents with her firm many of whom were new to the business. In 1998 Barbara merged her firm with Long & Foster Real Estate and managed the Bay River office for the following six years. In 2004, she and her husband moved to Highland County, VA where they lived until eventually returning to beautiful Lancaster County. Barbara returned to real estate sales in May of 2017. The Northern Neck and Middle Peninsula of Virginia are popular areas for retirees and second home buyers. Barbara enjoys helping buyers find just the right property and especially enjoys helping sellers get their property ready for market.
Over the years, Barbara has served on the Board of Directors as well as President of the Chesapeake Bay & Rivers Association of REALTORS® and on the Board of Directors of the Northern Neck Association of REALTORS®. In recent years, Barbara has enjoyed volunteering at Historic Christ Church & Museum in Irvington and RAL Art Center in Kilmarnock.
